Was ist das Teezimmer?
Das Teezimmer (japanisch chashitsu) ist ein Ort der Begegnung - eine Begegnung zwischen den Besuchern dieser Webseite und einem Japanischen Architekten in Form eines Interviews.
www.edo-tokyo.de wird japanische Architekten aber auch andere Protagonisten des Städtbaus einladen, sich auf dieser Plattform mit Projekten oder Essays zu präsentieren. Anschließend haben die Besucher die Möglichkeit Fragen an den Architekten zu stellen. Dies geschieht in Form von E-mails an den webmaster, der die Fragen prüft und die besten nach Japan schickt, wo sie vom Architekten beantwortet werden und abschließend hier veröffentlicht werden.

Warum "Teezimmer"?
das Teezimmer ist die kleinste funktionale Gebäudeeinheit der Welt. Sie ist der Ort, wo wichtige Gespräche geführt werden während man sich dem Genuß der Teezeremonie hingibt. Man wird von nichts abgelenkt. Nur Gast und Gastgeber sind anwesend. Übersetzt auf dieses Chashitsu bedeutet dies: nur auf einer Webseite exklusiv - nur die Architektur ist Thema - nur der Architekt und der Besucher von edo-tokyo - architektonische Intimität!

What is the Tearoom?
The tearoom (in japanese chashitsu) is a place of meeting - a meeting between visitors of this website and a japanese architect by an interview.
www.edo-tokyo.de will invite japanese architects, urban planners and so on to promote themselves by their project or essays. After that the visitors will be able to ask questions to the architect. These Q will be sent by E-mail to the webmaster, where they will be collected, checked and sorted out (sorry) and sent to the architect. After answering you will find the interview exclusively here.

Why "Tearoom"?
a tearoom is the smallest functional building unit in the world. It is a place, where important meetings are held while enjoying the womderful art of the tea ceremony. There is no diversion. Only the guest and the host are present.
Translated to the chashitsu: exclusively only at www.edo-tokyo.de - the only topic is architecture - only the architect and the visitor - architectural intimacy!
